With the Pet Care Affiliates Therapy Dog Handler Liability Policy, you and your therapy animal(s) must be registered with one of the following approved organizations:
- Pet Partners
- Alliance of Therapy Dogs
- Other Approved Therapy Dog Organizations
**Please note that all therapy dogs also need to be certified members of one of our approved therapy dog organizations, and proof of membership will be required to be sent to certificates@business-insurers.com.
What We Offer Therapy Dog Handlers
As a Therapy Dog Handler, it is good practice to get a General Liability Policy that covers 3rd party bodily injury and property damage as well as coverage for the therapy dog in your care, custody or control.
LIABILITY LIMITS FOR THERAPY DOG HANDLERS:
- $2,000,000 yearly aggregate/ $1,000,000 each occurrence - 3rd party bodily injury and property damage.
- $10,000 Liability Limit - for the therapy dogs in your care, custody, or control while in a therapy setting.
Optional Add-On Endorsements
Optional Endorsement: Add An Additional Dog
If you have more than one therapy dog that needs to be added onto your liability policy, you have the option to add additional dogs for an additional price.
**Please note that additional dogs also need to be a member of one of our approved therapy dog organizations and proof of membership will be required to be sent to certificates@business-insurers.com.
Optional Endorsement: Additional Insured
Additional Insureds consist of building owners, apartment complexes, parks, municipalities, or other entities where you may work, requesting to be listed under your policy. They are not employees or independent contractors.
